In the absence of electricity, even the simplest daily activities—cooking, studying, or ensuring safety after sunset—become daily struggles. Recognizing this reality, the Arshad Salman Foundation initiated a compassionate effort to support over 200 families living in tent shelters in Channapatna, where access to electricity remains out of reach. This initiative emerged during a previous ration distribution drive, when Arshad Salman Sir personally observed the complete lack of lighting in these shelters. As darkness fell, families were left struggling—children unable to study, elders facing difficulties with routine tasks, and households dealing with heightened safety concerns.

To ease these hardships, Arshad Salman Foundation distributed rechargeable lights capable of providing up to four hours of illumination. Many beneficiaries, working as daily-wage laborers, are able to charge the lights at their workplaces and bring them home each evening, ensuring light after sunset. Though simple, these lights have transformed dark nights into moments of comfort, safety, and relief. Beyond illumination, this initiative has brought hope, reassurance, and peace of mind to hundreds of families. Witnessing the gratitude and smiles within these shelters reaffirmed our belief that even the smallest acts of compassion can create meaningful and lasting change.
